Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette - Winter Color

The other day, I looked in on the agaves in the unheated glass room.  The sun was shining and Agave 'Blue Glow' was looking particularly lovely.  How nice that it's colors echo those in the windows behind.

  7. Oh, that's a sight to make you stop in your tracks for sure. I call those moments little miracles.

  8. That agave does look like stained glass, very surreal in front of the windows.

  9. That agave couldn't have had a more perfect background! I haven't brought mine in yet - I was thinking it's been so warm, it could probably handle being left outside. But after seeing yours so warm and snug, I feel a need to grab a flashlight and go look. After all, we had frost the past couple of nights (for the first time this winter, no less - can you even believe it??)
