Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

The Super Blood Wolf Moon from Tacoma
Like many folks, we went outside on Sunday night to see the Lunar eclipse. Here are a few shots from the back porch
Is that a Jack-O-Lantern in the sky?
For more about the eclipse and the reason of it's name click here.
I went out to see the moon: pretty amazing site, and how nice of the weather to cooperate. It could have been overcast and rainy. The pictures I took didn't measure up though.
Thanks for these great shots! I particularly appreciate the second and third shots, which convey the ooh-it's-really-happening excitement.
At midnight (our peak) there was a 20-mph wind and a 20F temperature to match, so one quick gaze from the back steps did it for me. Definitely red; done and dusted.
It was so cloudy here we couldn't see it. I probably would have slept through anyway. ha... I am not usually up at midnight when it was seen here. I was happy that it was cloudy because I had a good reason to stay in bed. Nice that you got some shots of it.
Great images, Peter! I didn't even go outside to see it because it was too cold here. It's been fun to see everyone's amazing documentations of the event!

ReplyDeleteLucky you! It was completely overcast here. (great shots too!)

You got some decent shots, well done. I didn't bother looking, I knew I'd get to see it in pictures online.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the camera work.
ReplyDeleteWow, Peter! What the shots!
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos! We had clouds and the few photos I managed were very poor. It was fun to see the eclipse, though.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing that we have this big rock that follows us around? ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots! It was cloudy here so I didn't see anything!

ReplyDeleteGreat photographs! We enjoyed watching it hear in Houston on a rare clear night.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are great. I missed it entirely!
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos. We saw it up to about halfway between your photos 1 & 2, then it clouded over. At least I get to see what it looked like in Tacoma!

ReplyDeleteVery cool but kind of creepy!
