Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette

Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna at Flutter and Hum.  Click on over there to see what's crossed her lens and mind this week.

Can you see the little patch of blue sky?  This unusual sighting took place while walking through Heronswood on Saturday and was accompanied by a very bright light from above which felt warm and caused fellow moles in attendance to squint.   Later in the day, I actually removed my winter coat.  As I write this on Tuesday night, the wind and rain have returned, thank goodness.  All of this bright warm business might have made people feel a little too happy and we wouldn't want that!

  1. I saw that blue yesterday briefly. No rain today but no sun and only 41.

  2. Yes, the blue sky and sunshine was so nice for a while. Great that it lasted longer than a few moments too. Ah well, it will give me a chance to rest my old weary body. I bet it was great to see that while wandering Heronswood.

  3. I'm sorry that Mother Nature is being so truculent about letting go of winter up your way! At least she showed some grace during your Heronswood tour.

  4. I wish we could trade. We have too much sun here. It got so hot I had to come inside. At least you have Heronswood to look at!

  5. Yeah, right. :-(
What a dreary day this was, again.

  6. She can be such a tease, that Mother Nature... I thought the worst of it was over for this year, but lo and behold - I was soaked by the time I got home today, despite wearing a rain jacket. I wore the wrong one - the one that is "water resistant" rather than the hardcore one that is water proof. I will know better than to tempt fate, next time.
