My little couch potato friend who wrote this blog with me, our little Chocolate girl, went to the vet one last time at 2:30 a.m.
She'd just turned eleven on April tenth but her quality of life had seriously deteriorated over the last few months despite excellent vet care and all the love (and medication) we could give. So there'll be one less bloom in my garden for Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day tomorrow.
A Prayer
by Alfred Noyes
Angels where you soar
Up to God's own light,
Take my own lost bird
On your hearts tonight;
And as grief once more
Mounts to heaven and sings,
Let my love be heard
Whispering in your wings.
So sorry to learn your dear sweet chocolate girl has passed away Peter. Her adventures live on in your posts.

ReplyDeletePeter, I am so sorry. I feel your pain since we are having similar experience with our older dog. Our furry friends make our lives more meaningful and let us have feelings that we wouldn' even know if not them. They live their short lives to teach us and prepare us for what is coming. And how lucky we are to have such friends. Take care and smile to your chocolate snowflake.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry - I feel your pain. I lost my Bo in February, my heart dog and my world will never be quite the same. I love this quote...
ReplyDeleteIt came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.
