Can someone help me change my tire?
The tire iron is right there on the seat, you can't miss it! Funny, my truck was brand new when I went into the nursery.
It's not a pretty truck but it gets me where I need to go and is much more reliable than my previous vehicles.
Do you have any WD-40? I'm sure that's all that this tractor needs to start right up again.
These were taken in the parking lot of Portland Avenue Nursery. Evidently people like to shop here for long periods of time.

You'll probably need a jump start too. Are the jumper cables under the seat?
ReplyDeleteStrange how "junk" vehicles add so much to nursery ambience. Hard to say that about any other businesses.
You're always thinking!
DeleteHehe, thanks for the morning laugh. I haven't been to Portland Avenue in ages. Did you buy some new plants?
ReplyDeleteA couple of heucheras and an ornamental cabbage.
DeleteYou almost made me spit out my coconut oil(I oil pull every morning)because you made me laugh. Great post and a wonderful way to begin my day. Have a wonderful Fall Peter!!
ReplyDeleteGlad it was only almost; wasted coconut oil isn't a good thing. Glad to make you laugh & wish you a wonderful fall as well!
DeleteI was thinking the same thing as Alan, what is it about nurseries and junk vehicles. Then I thought about the Cistus logo with the truck full of plants. Why don't they have a junk vehicle at the nursery?
ReplyDeleteA junk vehicle at Cistus would take up way to much plant space!
DeleteGreat shots! I love the rusted old farm equipment - something about it. Really nice captures!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I enjoy seeing rusted old farm equipment as well but don't have space for it in my little urban garden.
DeleteIt's amazing how much time you can actually spend inside a nursery!
ReplyDeleteThere's so much interesting stuff to hold one's attention at nurseries!
DeleteI remember a flower and garden show where a rustic vehicle was "planted up" and another build as a chicken coup. Both ideas were spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThey can really do some great things with rustic vehicles!
DeleteNice photos, Peter. The blurriness around the edges is a neat effect. The first shot almost looks like a miniature model.
ReplyDeleteThanks Evan!
DeleteOh how fun! For a second there, I thought you were at Celestial - I remember them having all these cool old vehicles and tools. Have you been there lately?
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Celestial this year but have seen them and their plants at many sales.
DeleteThey need a nice-sized skeleton - maybe with a big pumpkin head - sitting in the front seat of that truck.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
DeleteOur across-the-street neighbors have three of those old trucks parked out front. Some geurilla planting seems to be in order.
ReplyDeleteI agree and think you should document the process to share on your blog!
