Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette

"Dammit Bob, can't you take care of the kids once in a while?   Your bar stool won't miss you one bit if you stay home with your children and let me have one evening away!  I mean really, fair is fair."

"Keep your voice down, Janet, you're upsetting them."

"Don't tell me what to do or how to behave in my own home, Bob!"

"Oh, this coming from the woman who rolls her eyes every time I burp?!"

"You don't burp, you belch and then laugh about how loud it is.  That's disgusting.  This is an entirely different thing!  You think that you can just waltz in and out of here like you're the king and I'm some sort of servant.  I've got news for you, mister, we're a team and you're not being much of a team mate right now!"

"Oh yeah?    Maybe you'd like to team up with someone else!"

"Really, you're going to play that card, Bob?  We've created four beautiful children (well three beautiful children and one who's a bit odd looking) and you're not going to slither out of your responsibility to them that easily!"

This happy family was seen in the vintage market at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show.  Rather boisterous for a vintage couple, no?

Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna at Flutter and Hum.  Click here to join in the fun!

    1. Oh heavens no. Why argue when long silences are so much more fun? :) The vendor at this booth said something about what she was whispering in his ear so I had to make something up.

  5. The oldest kid is totally over it all. At least, I'm assuming that's the oldest and he doesn't just have a really big head. The one next to him and the blond on the other end look alarmed. The weird one...looks slightly entertained...

  6. I'm not sure which made me laugh harder - your fantasy argument or the responses to it.

  7. You always find the best stuff in the market! No, actually second best - the best of all is inside your head. I love your theatrical imagination and dramatic flair! So much fun!
