Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Fewer words Wednesday: The Northwest Flower and Garden Show

Following are  a few random shots of some of the show gardens at this years show, Romance Blossoms. There is a greater emphasis on floral color this year than in the last few years.  There will be more photos and words to come but this sneak peek shows a little of what you'll see at the show.

"Over the Moon"

Interesting gabion walls!

Insect motels

"Three Phases of love...  Young,

Passionate, (a shower for two)

 Forever"
Inside the above structure.  The mugs read "Mr. Right"  and "Mrs. Always Right.

"The Romance of Steam Punk"

We sneaked over to the vendor area to see the dig structure filled with goodies!

You may remember reading about this here

Riz Reyes putting finishing touches on his sky bridge garden.

Marcia Donahue bulbs grace one of Riz's pots.

From a distance, a huge heart.

Getting closer, one notices that it's composed of succulents, lots of them.  Yowsa!

Yowsa!

There is so much more to see and do at the show!  Tip of the iceberg peek  whet your appetite to attend the show or at least to stay tuned to the blogosphere to see what lots of regional bloggers will be posting!

  6. You cannot imagine how much pleasure these photos bring me. I look at every little thing and think, "Do I have anything that vaguely resembles this?" Then I think, "Will it stand up to sun, wind and water?"
"Will that grow here? What looks like it and will grow here? Who would have thought to plant those that way?"
Tonight I'll enlarge every photo and stand on the other side of a darkened room.
