Sun faces are from Inside Out Home and Garden which also does mail order here. Are those expressions funny or what? Ceramic Faces are by Cynthia Jenkins Pottery. I'd admired Cynthia's work for many years and finally purchased a few pieces this year. The problem is just choosing one or two things as they're all so fabulous!
I guess I'm a real traditionalist at heart as I like the last sun face the best…it is the most pleasant of faces.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very pleasant face!
DeleteOverwhelming. I'm still trying to decide about putting Rhipsalis in a head pot. Looking forward to seeing exactly what you bought.
ReplyDeleteYou gave me the idea of putting Rhipsalis in a head pot so I think you should do it. Some of what I bought was in the Meanwhile, back in the greenhouse post but I'll do a post with everything one of these days.
DeleteI was just going to ask how many went home with you then I saw you post script :)
ReplyDeleteJust a few...
DeleteAll so fabulous! I love the ceramic work, I really meant to buy a skull face cup or two at her booth, but neglected to go back. You really need to show what you bought and what you did with them!
ReplyDeleteI also fell in love with a large plate with lots of crows in branches eating bright red berries but when I returned, it was gone. Hopefully Cynthia will be at the show again next year! Post is forthcoming!
DeleteOh I always have the problem of taking too much time to decide between one or another piece of whatever I´m buying. So I understand your problem in deciding between Cynthia´s work.
ReplyDeleteIt's a delightful problem!
DeleteThe first bad- tempered cigar -smoking sun face is priceless. What fun to have an angry sun .
ReplyDeleteAnd interesting that overexposure to the sun and smoking both cause cancer...
DeleteThese faces are fun. I visited the "Inside out" site to see more. Lovely garden art. I was drooling over their garden lighting, but not so much over the prices. It became clear why the "sun faces" are so grumpy!
ReplyDeleteI add my name to the list of followers interested to see your purchases. Do share.
I also loved the lighting on their website but thought the same thing about the prices. Of course, hand made anything is always more expensive. I'll do a post about my purchases although most of the plant purchases were posted in "Meanwhile, back in the greenhouse."
DeletePretty faces, Peter. I liked the smiling sun, with curved rays.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want the sun to be mad at me! Glad you liked the smiling sun.
DeletePeter, you always delight with the most creative finds!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenni, It's easy at shows like this to see all kinds of cool stuff! Are you going to the Portland show this week?
DeleteThe bunny watering pot is cute, makes me think of Peter Rabbit. The face planters on pedestals would look great with all kinds of foliage plants for hair!
ReplyDeleteI love face planters for some reason and revel in finding interesting hair for them.
DeleteFun!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteI absolutely love the suns. Thanks for the link - I'm going to put it on my b-day list as a prod to my husband (even though that's months away).
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun? Can't wait to see yours displayed in your garden!
DeleteSo many fabulous faces! The cigar-smoking sun is my fave...
ReplyDeleteHe's a fun one alright!
DeleteSuch expressive faces on those suns! I like the bunnies.
ReplyDeleteAny plans afoot for a meetup at YG&P?
ReplyDeleteI have one of those grumpy sun faces because, well, it's the Death Star!
