These got put in the Christopher Hoppin vase that was a gift from my neighbor and friend, Sandy. Here's the blue/lavender side.
The red side.
That was the warm side of winter. For the cold side, a face-vase purchased years ago in Vermont was chosen.
These sparkly twigs aren't from my garden.
Joining the vase is this glass paperweight from the Glass Eye Studio sale.
Only 71 more days of winter. Keep warm out there, especially those of you experiencing record cold days!In a Vase on Monday is hosted each week by Cathy at Rambling in the Garden. Click here to join the floral fiesta!
Love your colorful explosions. Did you spray the alliums yourself? Any tips on the best way to do that?
ReplyDeleteI did spray the alliums and did so wearing gloves in front of a box with plastic on the ground.
DeleteOh the alliums are most effective - I did make sure I kept ack some of mine with the intention of spraying tehm but, alas, had not got round to it ;) Oh and I do love to see your face vases!
ReplyDeleteFireworks arrangement for the New Year. Very appropriate.
ReplyDeleteForget the chill of Winter, Peter! Here is a (heart) warming thought for you: the NW Flower and Garden show is next month!!!
Love the Allium fireworks! Xera Plants is reopening for a the gardening season On January 20th. As far as I'm concerned that will be the end of winter in these parts.
ReplyDeleteAs always I love your dramatic vases....like New Year's fireworks!
ReplyDeleteI love the fireworks and the second vase is just wonderful. You have the most fabulous taste in vases.
ReplyDeleteThe alliums are so effective when coloured. Such an explosion and I love the frosty hair. 71 sounds like a lot of days!
ReplyDeleteI can never get enough of alliums. Mine never seem to last long enough to even think of bringing them to this stage. Lovely vases.
ReplyDeleteOnly 71 more days of winter? Yikes!
ReplyDelete71 more days sounds so incredibly long, but then it is only ten weeks! Your firework arrangement is quite cheerful and sparkly, and the paperweight too.
ReplyDeleteLove the sparkles and fireworks - a New Year's celebration! The face vase is very cool and the paperweight encapsulates the snowy beauty of winter. Glad to think about being on the downside of winter, it really won't be too long!
ReplyDeleteYour allium arrangement looks like New Years Eve at the Needle!
ReplyDeleteOoooh!....Aaaah!
ReplyDeleteFun arrangements for this time of year. I love the face-vase. Happy IAVOM.
