Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

  1. What is that? It's gorgeous and looks like a velvet sculpture. All my textile friends in grad school were knitting and crocheting fruits and veggies and it reminds me of them.

  4. I love plants that make rosettes like these. This was the one at the BBG, I bet. If so, I seem to recall, it was huge. Probably V. olympicum. Great shot.

  10. I love all your spring blooms, especially the Iris reticulata 'Katherine Hodgkin' and Hellebores! It has been a wild ride here on Long Island with three snow storms in two weeks, bulbs emerging, then snow and repeat. Spring is struggling to get here!
