Although we haven't had a hard frost yet, the air is definitely feeling colder and we've had quite a bit of rain lately as well. A bit of warm soup would really hit the spot so today I've chosen a miniature soup tureen to hold some warm-colored tropaeolum tuberosum blooms, a couple of abutilons and a bit of foliage from Acer palmatum 'Emerald Lace.'
Some fruit would round out the meal nicely so here's a salt cellar "fruit bowl" comprised of berries from Iris foetidissima, Arbutus unedo, Fuchsia, and Callicarpa.
It just wouldn't be teatime without a warming cup of tea, would it? A Christmas ornament teapot will do the trick.
Many thanks to Cathy for warming each week with this addictive meme!
A well-balanced and satisfying meal Peter!
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped by for a bite!
DeleteMmm soup, always a good idea. I'm drooling over that Acer leaf.
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky to have several nice Acers in my garden.
DeleteLove your miniature soup tureen, Peter, and what a great little arrangement you have created with it and its spot-on accompaniments. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks, as always for hosting the party!
DeleteMiniatures always speak to me! You've outdone yourself: love, love love it!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it. This time of year, when blooms are fewer, it's easier to fill miniature containers.
DeleteLove the concept and the execution.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. Your cold temperatures make soup sound really good right now.
DeleteWonderful! The presentation reminded me of the fanciful animated ecards I enjoy so much.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to throw together something for Monday.
DeleteWhat a fabulous idea for an arrangement, a soup tureen. Lovely plant material to finish it.
ReplyDeleteThe tureen sits on a high shelf in the kitchen. It was so covered with dust that I pulled it down to clean it and decided to I'd might as well use it since it was already down and clean.
DeleteColorful, clever, and cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a warm and inviting vignette. The bouquet screams fall while it is cold as the proverbial witch here. Happy IAVOM.
ReplyDeleteWe're actually having rather moderate temps with no frost yet but the rain has finally returned with a vengeance.
DeleteHow clever of you, Peter! Sweet little arrangement you've created, perfect for a crisp, fall day.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that the crisp days are a thing of the past for quite a few days as our rain has returned and the weather forecast is for it to continue for a while.
DeleteOh my goodness, that's a really good idea! Your tea kettle is sweet. I might have to borrow this idea, or something similar. Thanks for sharing your creativity!
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to have you visit!
ReplyDeleteThat teapot! You have such wonderfully quirky props!
ReplyDeleteSuch a dramatic arrangement and goes very well with the black background.
ReplyDeleteOh what fabulous glowing autumnal colours Peter. Your little soup tureen has warmed me up just looking at it. The fruit bowl looks as if it has been filled with little gemstones.
