Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

In A Vase On Monday: Happy Halloween!

These guys have been waiting to hold a Monday arrangement and today seemed like the perfect day to grant their wish.

I've been saving the dried traps from my carnivorous plants

A few beads taken from the tips of agaves in the greenhouse joined in.

While I could have made this, I found it on a recent visit to Watson's

It rounded out the group on this side of the table nicely.

In A Vase on Monday is hosted by the creative and fabulous Cathy at Rambling in the Garden. Click here to join in the floral fun!

  1. Perfect! I love your collection of skulls and pumpkins. I actually forgot today was Halloween or I might have done something different with my arrangement.

  2. The baby head in the pitcher plant is creepy. Great collection of Halloween-related items. Boo to you!

  4. As much as I like head planters, it stops at baby's heads. Maybe it's the hollow eyes, I'm not sure. I remember a while ago you posted a photo of a giant baby's head in a city square: I found it disturbing then too. The Watson's find is sweet and festive, and once all the skulls and heads are remove, you'll have your Thanks Giving display ready.
    Very clever:-)

  8. Wrote a comment from my tablet but it didn't seem to publish so I am trying again on my laptop. Was just saying what a dramatic vase yours was, albeit a little controversial ;)

  11. Well certainly creepy. You do have a liking for dismembered body parts I notice. But I like your sense of fun and drama.
