A few weeks ago, Camille and I set up a time to visit her garden. Unfortunately, last Saturday brought wind and pouring rain which is not the best weather for a garden tour. Fortunately, this Saturday's weather prediction is much nicer and I'll get to preview a couple of the gardens to be featured in a Fall Color Garden Tour on October 29 to benefit the
Chase Garden. What a grand idea to extend the garden tour season for a good cause! Camille was kind enough to email me the following images of her garden and give me permission to use her photographs. I'll not say much but rather let you take in the beauty and get excited about seeing this garden yourself next weekend.
Use of conifers ties this garden to it's setting.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing how all of these beautiful elements flow together.
Speaking of setting, can you imagine having this view?
Camille has three daughters; one is already an avid gardener, even asking for plants for her birthday! Cats make great garden supervisors.
Looks like there's plenty of color in this garden no matter the season.
The garden tour follows a workshop at the Chase garden called, " Coloring your garden with Japanese maples." Mark your calendar for the 29th to follow the rainbows to this autumn garden tour!
Happy weekend all!
What mouth-watering gorgeous color. I am so envious.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning garden: views in and out, plant combos, hardscaping, everything well done. Though I think that gazebo looks a bit out of place with the Asian architecture in other places. You will have to give us info on size and history when you visit.
ReplyDeleteJust heard from Camille that the gazebo was inherited with the property and they have contemplated removing it but the girls like having tea parties there.
DeleteWow. That's dang fabulous. Makes me want to get up off my lazy backside and get out in the garden--right after my annual Book Babes weekend in beautiful Welches OR!
ReplyDeleteEven with the rain that is a STUNNING garden, full of textures and balance. That opening shot with the intense sunlight with a black sky is so striking. Kudos for raising a mini-gardner, too! We need as many young minds engaged in the natural world as possible. Yay!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lovely garden! I'm not the biggest fan of Japanese maples, but they do give stunning fall color. What a great idea to do a garden tour in the fall that features fall color. I hadn't heard anything about this.
ReplyDeleteA late October garden tour, what fun! (and what generous gardeners to open there gardens this time of the year).
ReplyDeleteThis is a quintessential NW garden with a touch of asian influence. Its perfection: I love every frame! This sets a very high bar for the rest of the tour.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! That is a complex and wonderful garden.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the tour is limited to a very few people. Have fun and share it with us in your photos!
The presentation at Chase is limited but the tour is open to as many people as want to go. Admission to the tour is free for kids so it would make a great outing for the whole family.
DeleteGORGEOUS. It's photos like these that get me worked up with notions of moving to the PNW. Lately, I've been trying to convince my husband of the wisdom of putting a tiny vacation house on his brother's property on Vashon island but that's not flying either.
ReplyDeleteYou could buy the Dig nursery property on Vashon Island, live in the cool old house and run a nursery. What could be better?
DeleteA stunning garden with a view and foliage to die for! The Acers are magnificent! You are going to have a wonderful visit next weekend.

DeleteLooks like a dreamy fall garden to me. Now my head is full of ideas of how to bring life to our boring Autumn yard. Looking forward to your visit there.
ReplyDeleteThat is a special place. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteFabulous garden. I love how they've incorporated all the rocks. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSome of us are having a hard time letting go of the gardening season. Thanks for the reminder that, with the right attitude, it can go on...and on.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful planting. I particularly love their use of lovely stones.
