Just as I aimed my camera, the sun made itself known. Not the bright warm sun but a distant orb behind the clouds looking more like the moon.
As nights grow longer, we wait in the dark for the return of light, we deck our homes in anticipation, revel, burn artificial lights, and love our friends.
Sending you love and light in this season of dark and gloom.

This is a lovely, if gloomy, series of shots of the steeple. Thanks for the good wishes for the season. You know I send the same back to you and Tom.
ReplyDeleteEven Google lost it's color today in memory of 41, so this dark silhouette is very appropriate today. An impressive winter shot. Lots of Love and Light this Chanukah season.
ReplyDeleteThis dark time of year does come with its own beauty, and you have found it once again. Thank you for lighting up my gloomy days with your wonderful writing. :-)
ReplyDeleteRight back at you, friend! As always, beautiful writing, and very mood-appropriate shots. Happy Holidays to you both!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shot and I agree with chavliness, it seems all the more appropriate today.
ReplyDeleteGloom is good--here, it means rain!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peter. Wishing you a happy season with much warmth and brightness!
ReplyDeleteI always feel like it seems eerie when the sun is playing hide and seek in the clouds. This time of year I will take any beam that the sun emits and is allowed through the clouds. Big warm hugs.
ReplyDeleteThose foggy mornings have been melting into blue sky afternoons. Lots of light fleeting all to soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have lights inside and out as we sit out this winter evening.
Moody shots, nice work!
ReplyDeleteSomehow it is much more pleasant to look at your moody shot than at the weather out my window!
