Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Merry Christmas!

...And on earth peace, good will to all.

For now.  This angel is clearly a little miffed at finding a weed in the garden.  She's willing to let it go since it's Christmas and all but you'd better get outside and pull the rest soon or she'll  send in the angel of death.

Merry Christmas and happy weeding!

  3. The weather here is PNW with bells on. Stair rods in other words. Highly unsuitable for weeding. Means I am forced to spend the afternoon in front of a roaring fire with a box of chocolates and some fizz. Drat.
A very Merry Christmas to you both.

  4. Oh, no, not Roundup. How did that thing even get in the house? Not a Christmas gift, I hope.
It was Snowing in my North Seattle garden yesterday afternoon and into the evening. About 3" worth of the white stuff. Not my favorite, but it looked pretty cool.
Merry Christmas and a happy new gardening year.

  5. It's a good thing I braved the crowds yesterday at Fred Meyer to get a few extra food stuffs, given all the white stuff we have now on the ground. We'll be eating turkey sandwiches for days anyway. I hope you guys have lots of yummy food and have loads of fun over the Christmas break! Merry Christmas and thanks for the laugh.

  8. Enjoy your holiday. And I am so glad I don't have to think about weeding for at least a few months.

  9. Yikes, Roundup! That truly is the angel of death, or the devil in disguise, whichever characterization you prefer. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Peter!

  10. With an inch of snow and ice there will be no weeding here until spring. Be careful with the Angel of death so it doesn't kill what it isn't supposed to. Blessings and Merry Christmas.
