Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

  1. Love the quote, love the leaves. Are you pressing that last group? Or maybe scanning them?

    1. Thanks for the love! The last group is scanned. Did the big white line on the left tip you off? I'd never thought of scanning anything other than documents until I saw some amazing bloom day scans at http://ellishollow.remarc.com/. I was so excited that I grabbed a few leaves, threw them on the scanner and pressed the button. Not the best compostition but a fun way to remember the beautiful leaf colors of autumn.

  2. You have some really beautiful leaves there! I especially liked the ones that are purple from the back, with water droplets on them.

  4. Fabulous colours and textures. Are there Cornus and Fraxinus amongst them. I love Ash and Dogwoods this time of year above all else! Hadn't thought of scanning either, great idea! Thanks for sharing your wonderful colours!

    1. Thanks Barry. There is a street in a nearby town which is lined on both sides by Fraxinus for 15 - 20 blocks. Driving through them in the autumn is a magical experience which I tried to capture. However, with the cars parked on either side of the street, the pictures of the whole scene weren't very interesting but the closer shots are pretty.

  7. Beautiful. I secretly like fall leaves. I just can't appear to be too soft on the autumn. But this was a stunningly epic post. Amazing quote.
