To help pass the long nights of winter, I've decided to add a new feature to my blog: In A Face on Tuesday. (In a Vase on Monday is a wildly popular meme in which I often participate, hosted by Cathy at Rambling in the Garden. No disrespect is intended.) Since there's a collection of head/face/other body part shaped vessels hanging around, and word play is always fun I'll try and use them in different ways each Tuesday and post the results.
This week, "Mixed Emotions"
Hope this isn't to "in your face."
It's difficult to see the beaters through the heavy glass. Perhaps they should be spray painted white.
You're welcome to join in the fun if you're hip to that sort of thing.
Cryptanthus and something else from the crypt. Both came from Saturday's field trip to Mukilteo, Woodinville, and Maltby/Snohomish. More on that later this week.
Oh, yes, word play is always lots of fun. What a way to start the day. Crypts, mixed emotions, In your face. Big grins to you, Outlaw.
ReplyDeleteAs a lover of puns, I play with words a lot - to my family's chagrin. Grateful to find another Player of Words. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the mixed emotions picture. I got it even before I realized there were beaters inside the head. Word play is always fun. And it's unbelievable how much strange stuff you have in your house that you can play with! A plastic pelvis?
ReplyDeleteWell, after I get my kitchen counter cleared, the laundry folded and put away, and our living rooms dusted and vacuumed, I might come out and play! :)
ReplyDeleteHilarious, Peter. I love puns as well, and what an opportunity to show off your collection of body part. BTW, that Cryptanthus has amazing patterns; I wonder if Evan has one of those.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I found myself not at all surprised to hear that you have a collection of face/head/body part vessels hanging about...
ReplyDeleteFun Peter, a good way to brighten a day which often gets overlooked.
ReplyDeleteI like the subtlety of the metallic beaters (ha! obviously subtle was not your aim). I would love to bring my poker face to your game but, alas, I seem to have misplaced it, along with my vast collection of body part vases.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! You have so many cool body part ornaments/vases.
ReplyDeleteQuite the risqué cryptanthus. I'm not much of a flower arranger to begin with, and sadly lack any spare body parts lying around to stick flowers in (Those Dismemberers Anonymous meetings are really helping). But I do look forward to seeing what you come up with each week.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Though I feel like your messing with my head.
ReplyDeleteWell, this should be fun! I look forward to your self-imposed challenge.
ReplyDeleteWWPTON?
ReplyDelete(What will Peter think of next?)
Sounds like quite the fun meme, though I think you'll find that not quite as many gardeners as you might think happen to have items that look like body parts lying around... :)
