A slave to the Goddess Flora shares his garden adventures.

Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

In A Face on Tuesday - Blind Date
"She's cute as a button." "He's not to hard on the eyes but seems a bit empty-headed."
Fabulous containers! Perfect for holding the leftover Halloween candy. I realize how tame I am because I keep my mostly political buttons in a clear plastic box on my bookshelves, along with its companion box of ticket stubs. Both are getting so full that perhaps I should go searching for skulls.
Garage sales, on the side of the road, just about anywhere. I seldom get rid of stuff but store it just in case it comes in handy someday. There's also an attic and some unused bedrooms...
There are collections of junque everywhere in our house. Fortunately, we have the space to store it all. I dream of someday downsizing to a smaller house with a larger garden but the thought of sorting through everything is so daunting that we'll probably just die here.
There was a time in my misspent youth that I wore goofy buttons just about every day. These are the remnants of that time. I'll certainly let her know that you're interested!

ReplyDeleteThey're fun and I'm enjoying throwing different things in them.
DeleteI can't help but think that those would look fantastic filled with sand. I'm sure that won't make a mess at all either.
ReplyDeleteThat's because you have a dirt y mind. (Get it, sand/dirt...)
DeleteFun!
ReplyDeleteGives me something to do on Monday night.

ReplyDeleteThat's funny. Where do you ever find all these things... A tour in your basement would be great adventure!

DeleteCute and an ironic sense of humor (the brown button). If it doesn't work out with the airhead, can I have her number?
