Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.
If they were housed in cute little Alaskan caches (small log cabins built on stilts away from the main cabin in which food was stored, safe from predators. Also kept the predators away from the cabin where the people would be tasty snacks.) they'd be even cuter!

ReplyDeleteNot sure but they're along trails in the Alaska Botanical Garden. I'm guessing that they want to protect the boreal forest as much as possible.
