Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette

Holiday Clearance.  We're overstocked on Joy and must get rid of some of it.  People have been caught singing songs, smiling at each other, and being in generally good spirits.  It's scary and must be stopped.  Please take this off our hands!

This much joy just cannot be tolerated so help us get rid of it at half price.  Just think, you can back your pick-up into the loading area and take joy. Would the ensuing drive be a joy ride?

Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna at Flutter and Hum.  Click over there to see her vignette this week!

  1. Oh what fun! And you do know have to have fun. Looks like the store that brings joy year round in the form of markdown plants too.

  2. Haha - I just saw one of those alone in a display at Lowe's the other day. All I could think was; how does one store so much joy????

  3. Oh, you are too clever by half, thanks for the morning chuckle. Hopefully, you already have enough joy in your life, and didn't need to buy more.

  4. I once had three banners spelling J O Y. We put them up toward the end of a tree trimming party. They then spelled Y O J...good party. May you have plenty of it, regardless of how you spell it.

  5. A "JOY ride". You crack me up, Peter!
There is never too much joy (or yoj, in some cases). May you have plenty of it this holiday season and alway.

  7. Joy for sale...hmmm. Hopefully the legal kind!

Joy to you Peter, you bring so much to others.

  8. I have to say I like it, even if I have no idea whatsoever where I'd display it, much less where it could be stored between seasons. My live-in Scrooge would probably have a heart attack.
