Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette

Tom, the intrepid traveler found this vertical garden in Madrid.  Read more about it here

Interestingly, this garden was designed by Patrick Blanc who also designed the vertical garden in Tacoma, see previous post here.

Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna at Flutter and Hum.  Flutter on over there to find out what all the hum is about!

  2. Looks very well cared for, unlike Tacoma's version (at least the last time I was there).

  3. I love Blanc's tapestries but I can't imagine the maintenance they must require.

  4. What would we do without intrepid travellers?

What a fabulous planting. Blanc is the master of this.

  5. I love these vertical "green walls", but they must be hard to maintain. I saw on high up on an office tower in Pittsburgh that was very impressive.

  7. Wow - what a spectacular wall! I didn't know you had one in Tacoma. Will be sure to check it out next time I'm there - even if the maintenance might be lacking a little (based on Loree's comment). Wonder what the red patch is? It looks lusher than heat-stressed Sedum album...
