From the garden of Karen and Larry Decker comes the spirit of this ancient tree.
Or maybe it could be called "Stumped Again."
Wednesday Vignette is hosted by my garden blogging pal Anna at Flutter and Hum. Flutter on over to her blog and see what Vignettes others are humming about.
How fun! His expression is priceless as he peers out over his visitors.
ReplyDeleteHe's a fun guy for sure!
DeleteOh, that's a great shot, Peter. Love his face. Looks like he's been waiting there a long time.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe he's just stoned. One never knows these days.
DeleteNice shot! Such a wise old face.
ReplyDeleteThanks. The head band adds some 60's hippie charm.
DeleteFun! Bet it would be scary at dusk or night though!
ReplyDeleteVery well could be scary then. I've turned the corner in my own garden and been frightened by things that I'd forgotten were there. Great cardio workout!
DeleteThe children gave me a tree face for Mother's Day. I'm still deciding what kind of tree a face best fits.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see where your tree face gets placed!
DeleteOne of the best things to do with a tree stump!
ReplyDeleteThe moss really helps & when that's greener in the winter in spring I bet it looks even better.
DeleteHello Dear Peter !
ReplyDeleteI love this ancient looking man of wood ? LOL
It reminds me of a Druid theme ... since I have Gaelic blood in my veins that is always my first thought to what I see, if it fits in my mind's category as such.
Otherwise it is just plain fun !
Hope all is well with you and your garden : )
Take care
Joy
Howdy Dear Joy!
DeleteI thought he might be an ancient druid tree spirit. Things are gong well in the garden. Still needs more work but people have been visiting and I haven't been horribly embarrassed.
Hmm...always wondered where Gandalf wound up.
ReplyDeleteNow we know! :)
DeleteLove it! Great shot, Peter!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Evan!
DeleteI guess the moss dares not grow across that face...
ReplyDeleteI bet it gets a little help from the Deckers. Moss will grow on anything in the winter here.
DeleteBeautiful and haunting.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed.
DeleteAh, yes. I have met this old spirit. Great photo effect.
ReplyDeleteHe's a great guy! Thanks.
DeleteThis is really cool! It does seem as if it's really a face in the stump. Very Lord of the Rings. :o)
ReplyDeleteI can tell the stump used to hate moss, then it grew on him. The face seems to be pining for better days, but I wood expect his bark is worse than his blight. I want one!
ReplyDeleteLove this. But you know why he always looks fresh in the morning? Because he sleeps like a log.
