Today, we were taking our it's-too-hot-to-garden-now afternoon nap when the mail arrived. Strider was in the kitchen recovering from anesthesia from his dental surgery so there were only the four of us and we were all very curious about the contents of an envelope from Boris and Natasha.
"Is it pie?" wonders Sara Sue, the youngest. She always thinks that it'll be pie since Boris and Natasha have a reputation for liking pie (read post here.) and they live not far from Polly's Pies.
"It's too flat for pie"says Chocolate, "and Boris and Natasha like to eat that themselves!"
"Did someone say pie?" No Rigby, and pie isn't good for dogs.
Well, let's see what it is!
Excitement builds as we unwrap the inner package.
It's the good part of the name plate from a Toyota Tacoma! Way cool!
There's time to think of how to use it later but now we should get back to our nap, okay? I can't argue with that!
cute post, with very photogenic canine subjects.
ReplyDeleteThey are very sweet.
DeleteThere is such joy in surprises in the mail. Even pets recognize that.
ReplyDeleteRight you are!
DeleteHow cool!!
ReplyDeleteFor sure!
DeleteSo cute, and so thoughtful of Hoov to not only think of you, but to go the extra several miles to package and mail it.
ReplyDeleteHoov is a very thoughtful person and this was a wonderful surprise!
DeleteSomehow I didn't know that you had these little cuties! Funny post!
ReplyDelete(I can relate to the afternoon nap part best...)
Yup, always have a pack of dogs around. Afternoon naps are the best!
DeleteThat's great! And how wonderfully thoughtful. Your un-packaging crew is adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteHoov is very thoughtful to be sure! I'm pretty fond of the crew!
DeleteIt's lovely to get gifts in the mail. Wishing quick recovery to poor little Strider. (I get weak in the knee just thinking of dental surgery.)
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to get gifts in the mail! After a day of cuddling and copious tummy rubbing, Strider seems back to his old self, barking at me for morning treats and food. The pain meds helped!
DeleteOMG, I forgot how cute your little critters are! I bet they aren't fans of the heat.
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to mind the heat too much - Years ago, in another heat wave, when Strider had a lot more hair, he was miserable but made it through by sleeping on ice packs.
DeleteBetter than pie...fewer calories, and lasts longer, too. I could tell that Hoov is a generous gal just by reading between her (usually very funny) lines.
ReplyDeleteYou're right and who wants pie when it's so darned hot? Hoov is, indeed, a generous gal!
DeleteI didn't know how tiny your dogs were! The Tacoma sign is as wide as one of them! Cuties all around.
ReplyDeleteThey are kind of little. We love big dogs but don't have the space for them to run so we have small ones instead.
DeleteThe pups are so incredibly cute! (As is the pie story.)
ReplyDeleteThanks, we love them.
DeleteBoris and Natasha think Rigby, Chocolate, and Sara Sue are totally adorable and wish Strider (they assume also totally adorable) a quick recovery. They wonder though why are they so tiny? Too many baths--they shrank? Not enough pie, probably.
ReplyDeleteI hope your creative talents will find a use for, or at least amusement from, that odd bit of street flotsam.
Who knew that dogs weren't machine washable? When they're this small, they can't counter surf so pie remains out of their paws. So, if I feed them pie, they'll get bigger?
DeleteThank you again for your thoughtfulness; it was such a fun surprise which will hang in the greenhouse until some other cool use presents itself!
How fun to meet the rest of your family!
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun post.
Glad you enjoyed meeting the kids!
DeleteOh my gosh. You made my day. It was fun to read how everyone chimed in with their thoughts. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad that you had fun! I enjoyed putting it together.
DeleteYou have some cute helpers!
ReplyDeleteWe sure think so!
