Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette

On the second floor of  a wedge-shaped apartment  building on a wedge-shaped lot between two streets shines this lovely tree.  It's kind of a dark area at night and the tree makes me smile as I drive by.

During this darkest time of year, may you find light and love to make you smile and feel warm inside!

  3. That window does shine like a beacon and I can see it making you smile as you pass. Best Christmas wishes to you too as we slip further into darkness for the next few days. But after that, look out, spring will be just around the corner.

  4. For years, I drove by a house with a two-story front window at 6 am or earlier. Most mornings toward Christmas the tree was lit. I could have taken a shorter route to work but I loved seeing that tree. What a treat in these dark days. Hope you guys and your families have a lovely holiday.
