I'd never seen frost quite like this before. Notice all the little dots within each line. So interesting.
The rest of the top of the car was covered in this more typical but stunning feathery crystalline structure.
A window.
Thanks, OMW and Jack for signing off so beautifully. I'm looking forward to warmer nights and the wonder that is spring!
Happy new week all!
Great frost pictures! I've never seen such an intricate pattern as that first one. Mother Nature and Old Man Winter can get up to some beautiful tricks.
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying their frosty antics all winter but this was especially lovely.
DeleteThey look fab, like patterned glass! Funny you featured this as we had heavy frost last night and we had a similar effect on the car this morning :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what are the odds?
DeletePeter those are beautiful! So glad you captured the images and thought to share them with your adoring public.
ReplyDeleteThanks Loree. As you well know, it's always fun to share.
DeleteI work till late at night and I'v seen my share of frost on car windows, but nothing quite like this! It's almost a shame to scrape off...
ReplyDeleteThe really interesting formation was on the sunroof of the car so I got to leave it. By the time I got to work, it had melted.
DeleteOkay, that is amazing! Glad you got pics of it as I would never believe you otherwise!
ReplyDeleteIt was too cool not to snap picutures, even though I only had my phone with me. It's wise for you never to believe me without proof!
DeleteWow. that is so beautiful and intricate, it hardly seems real!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun surprise!
DeleteThanks for the memories...now lets get on with this Spring thing.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteI've never seen anything like that, although we never get frost. (I'm not bragging, just saying...) As sign-offs go, that was pretty impressive.
ReplyDeleteYou can go ahead and brag. You're very fortunate to live in your gorgeous climate. That way, when you're sweltering in the summer heat and our thermometers don't go much above 75 or 80 I won't feel guilty about teasing you about it.
DeleteWow! that is beautiful!!!! eve if it is not the best thing to find when you are going to drive...
ReplyDeleteOh, a little running of the defroster in the car and a scrape or two and you could see through the windows in no time.
DeleteI see you are an expert on that, hehehe.
DeleteWow, that is amazing. Even the ice is more artistic in the PNW.
ReplyDeleteMust be something in the water (and there's a lot of it.)
DeleteWOW Wow wow! I hate frost, but that is stinking cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was odd because the night was rainy and the sky cleared in the wee hours of the morning allowing the temp to fall but no frost hit the ground so no plants were affected. Kind of a sweet greeting from a season that we often villify.
DeleteNow that is perfection. Great job on getting a lovely photograph :) So long OMW...let us bring forth the sun. Cheers, Jenni
ReplyDeleteSomeone is not listening to us and has turned the rain back on!
DeleteWhat an incredible pattern! I could see that pattern inspiring decorative windows, gates, walls, shower curtains, etc. Thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteIt was too pretty not to share.
DeleteThat frost is amazing. I think fabric designers should see this. Wowzers.
ReplyDeleteSometimes nature's beauty just smacks you right in the face!
