Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Frugal Plant Finder News Flash

I was just at Fred Meyer in Puyallup (River Road) doing some grocery shopping and decided to take a quick walk through the garden department.  They have two gallon sized hydrangeas on sale for $9.99!

As I was busy ogling this one,
what should come into view but about 10 Hydrangea 'Pistachio'  also two gallon size and for the same price!

If you're in the Puyallup area and are looking for this hydrangea at a steal of a price, head on over!

Since Sumner is so close, I had to stop by Windmill Nursery where they have begonias for sale for very reasonable prices .   (8.00 for the ones below in good sized ornamental plastic pots)

  1. Groan! I just bought a Pistachio Hydrangea at Swanson's for about $15, the same size. Boo Hoo...

Isn't Windmill an awesome nursery? It's only about 2 miles from my house, up the hill on the plateau. Let me know next time, maybe we could meet for coffee or plant shopping or something.

    1. Furney's was asking $26 - Yikes!

Windmill is great! I took a bunch of pictures while I was there so I'll post about it one of these days. It would be fun to meet for coffee AND plant shopping!
