Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Savage Art (Garden Art at Savage Plants)

Recently, Savage Plants had their garden art event which I caught by accident as I noticed the sign as the plant mobile sped past on the way home from Heronswood.   Savage always has lots of cool work by local artists but during their event, artists bring even more.  Here's a teaser.

This guy would be right at home in my garden if there was an inch of space left.

This piece intrigues me.  If the topiary tree in my garden ever got cut down, this would take it's place.

Speaking of art, Glass Eye Studio's fall Sidewalk Sale takes place on Saturday, October 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Fly on over there to get some great bargains (1/2 off of wholesale prices) on all sorts of glass art.

Would any of these pieces have found a home in your garden?

  1. I'm feeling a bit bummed that I didn't check this out now. Those flying, nekkid, big-bosomed women would have been right at home in my garden.

  2. What a variety of items. Love the bird bath with the rock base but I would not want to move it into the garden without serious help.

  3. There were quite a few things I'd have loved to take home, assuming cost was not an issue of course. I loved that screen/art piece shown in the 4th photo, the table in the 6th photo, and the chair in the 17th photo. If there are shows like this down this way, they're hidden away somewhere.

  4. Wow, what a lot of neat art! What spoke to my heart? The little bird s&p shakers (?) on the little trays.
