Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Stopping by Zenith Holland Greenhouse

Zenith Holland is a wholesale nursery that opens to the public on weekends in the summer and during the holiday season is also open during the week. Some lovely trees still waiting for homes.

This is a working greenhouse and they're about growing plants, making hanging baskets and, at this time of year, they create with plants.

Lovely fresh wreaths and living trees.

I'd never seen hearts for Christmas but like the idea.  They bring to mind the Christina Rossetti Poem.

Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, Love Divine,
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and Angels gave the sign.

Worship we the Godhead,
Love incarnate, Love Divine,
Worship we our Jesus.
But wherewith for sacred sign?

Love shall be our token,
Love be yours and love be mine.
Love to God and all men,
Love for plea and gift and sign.

There are still plants hanging around.

And inside, cuttings of next summer's plants.

And seed liners.

Coleus.

And some things already planted for winter interest.

Like the orb idea!

Agave 'Blue Glow' have grown since my last visit.  Not a bad buy for 8.95!

 Agave parryi truncata

Salvia and other cuttings.

In the small office area there were poinsettias.
Great place with good prices and they're all about plants.

  2. Look at all those baby plants for spring and summer! I know we just started winter, but can we just skip ahead? I just fell in love with Agave 'Blue Glow' today reading the Form and Foliage blog.
