Wednesday Vignette - Magnolia Time
It's spring break and for the first two days, we had blue sky and temperatures in the sixties. Perfect weather for playing in the garden but I spent far too much of it inside doing nothing. The clouds predicted for the rest of the week will motivate me to go out and play.
Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna at Flutter and Hum. Click here to join the party.
The garden is waking up for the year so I'd better get out there and tidy up a bit! How is your spring gardening going so far?

Magnolia trees were one of my favorite trees when we lived in New Hampshire. They were beautiful when they were filled with their pink flowers then when they fell, they carpeted the ground in pink.
ReplyDeleteAs usual I am behind in my spring gardening. I'm trying to clean up and move things and redo beds all at the same time. I should have started cleanup in January when our weather was so good, but I felt like crap then. I just keep on keeping on. It's not a race. I'll get done whatever I can. I sometimes wish I had a Magnolia with those big pink flowers, they're so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThose magnolia blossoms look so pretty against the sky. I imagine your garden is moving right along now. I've raked a couple beds where the snow has melted and pulled leaves off the snowdrops that have only recently emerged. Once we get warmer days, I expect things will be going quickly!
ReplyDeleteThe Magnolia blooms couldn't have a prettier backdrop.
ReplyDeleteOh, one of the best times of year. It looks like we won't be too far behind you this year. Everything's warming up fast here. Your photos are fantastic, Peter. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteWe spent many hours here at home crawling around cleaning up the garden, and then we did the same at the Whidbey cabin garden. Now we are ready to enjoy spring, and I will spend some time reworking the pots that will go out on the patio. I plan to stand up to do some of that.
ReplyDeleteI forgot that your break is the week behind ours. Happy, happy! Hope you have a wonderful week! I'm taking a day outside tomorrow - a much needed one mind you. Both for me and for the garden. It's been an eternity since I've gotten to spend time out there, so I'm really looking forward to it. I never get as much done as I want, but I'm at least going to try to make a visible difference. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your gorgeous blue skies and those lovely pink blooms of the magnolia is tantalizing. My magnolia is still has fuzzy buds. It won't be long though. It is to be in the 70's a couple of days this week. That should get things going.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I just love magnolias! We're a bit further behind here in Massachusetts. The crocus are starting to bloom and the daffodils are in bud.
ReplyDeleteHello there Peter !
ReplyDeleteThese pictures make me feel .. SPRINGY ? LOL ... they are so pretty , especially against the blue sky .. we are not really in Spring mode here ... cold gray wet conditions .. so I am waiting a bit longer for the true motivation aka PANIC to hit me .. then I will go mad and drive myself into the ground doing as much as possible ? LOL
Love the pictures :-)

Love the way you got the blue sky in the background. I will try using them as mobile phone wall papers!
ReplyDeleteWhat I really like about your post are definitely the photos. They are beautiful, you have an eye for photography. Magnolia tree is a plant that I associate with my childhood. My mother always have grown one in purple colour and each year there were blooming a beautiful flowers. When I moved out I couldn't stand my yard without magnolia so I bought quite unusual but still cool variety called champak. I bought its seeds on https://gardenseedsmarket.com/champak-seeds-magnolia-champaca.html?sl=de and the plant wasn't sprouting for so long..But now, I have this beautiful tree and I can appreciate how it grows!
