Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Glassy-Eyed at Sorticulture

This was my first year to attend Sorticulture Garden Arts Festival in Everett and oh what an event it was.  I'm still sorting through over 500 pictures taken on that visit.   Today is my last day of school with students.  I'll miss my kids this summer but am looking forward to having more time to play in my garden.  Since I'm tired and it's late, I'll leave you with some glassy goodness from Island Art Glass at Sorticulture and a promise for more thorough coverage next week.

May your weekend be filled with light and color and may you enjoy being alive to experience the wonder that is all around us.

  2. That red splashy thing second from the top is so pretty! You had such a bright sunny day for photographing glass, they're all shining so nicely. You sound so happy that summer is here.

  8. It's amazing what can be done with glass. Lots of pretty stuff. No clue how you would get the flowers in the middle of glass...think that's what I'm seeing. Enjoy your weekend.

  10. This was the first year I wasn't able to make it to Sorticulture, so these photos, of course, make me wish I had gone. Looking forward to your excellent photos of what I missed!
